About
e-Vet Clinic is the website and virtual veterinary clinic of Daniel Beatty, DVM
From the West Coast to the East Coast, up into Canada and in my own backyard, I have been on a quest for over 10 years to find the best of the best horse & dog health information. I specialize in movement and how it affects performance and health of the animal.
Dr. Dan as I am affectionately known is a 1996 graduate of the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine. I began my career as a large animal general practitioner in Princeton, Illinois. While there, I completed advanced course work in animal chiropractics and became certified by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA). And that is where the start of the quest began.
After working with and bouncing ideas off some of the top practitioners in the country in the world of holistic and alternative medicine, along with cutting edge nutritionists, world class equine dentists, one of the best in the world Master Saddlers, other chiropractors and equine bodyworkers, and of course my own clients and trainers (which are also the best in the world, IMHO) there are 6 key points to focus on in improving the health and performance of a horse through its movement. Considering the holistic viewpoint of the athletic horse, in order to have ideal performance one needs to look at the following – nutrition, farriery, dentistry, tack fit, rider balance, and the horse’s body mechanics. I have made this my entire practice area giving up traditional practice and working exclusively on these six points to increase performance and efficiency in my clients’ performance horses.
Of course a couple of these points help with increasing performance and efficiency in my dog clients as well. Along with focusing on body mechanics and nutrition in dogs, I work on other health improvements such as reducing the number of vaccines and working with the dogs immune system through supplemental support and pathological issues using more alternative treatments in combination with conventional treatments to help my clients dogs improve their health and performance.
e-VetClinic gives me the opportunity to share what I have learned on my quest through blog posts, videos, podcasts, teleseminars, and even professional speaking engagements.
